Bio-Statement:
Mary Louise Chichkan
Mary Louise Chichkan was born in Windsor, Ontario Canada. She studied Art at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Michigan. Mary Lou has been drawing since she was a young child. Mary Lou has incorporated many of the techniques she mastered in her studies, developing her own unique style of artwork the process. For the past 15 years she has worked in the mediums of Pastels, Acrylics, Mixed medium and sculpture.
Pastels have been the focus of Mary Lou’s work during the past 7 years. It is through this medium that her engaging style has evolved. In viewing her pastel drawings one can sense the physical expression of deep emotion. Vivid colors, shapes and symbols spark responses from the viewer that cannot be ignored.
